Plant hormones coordinate monolignol biosynthesis with seasonal changes in Populus tomentosa

چکیده

Temperate woody plants suffer environmental stresses caused by seasonal changes. Seasonal changes affect tree cambium activity, resulting in the annual periodicity of growth. In present study, we provide a model for plant hormone coordination monolignol biosynthesis to cope with poplar species. First, 27 core lignin-related genes were identified Populus tomentosa, and co-expression lignifying tissues was identified. Combining spatial expression analysis dynamic hormones found that poplars reorganized (cytokinin;3-indoleacetic acid, IAA; abscisic ABA) transport pathways winter-down pattern, decreases cytokinin, IAA, ABA content cells. The same pattern also involved precursors biosynthesis. specific pathway PtoCAD1, 2, 8, PtoCCR1, 7 PtoF5H2 showed contrasting winter-up patterns. We propose 1) hormones, such as regulate activity coordinate biosynthesis, especially components upstream this pathway, tomentosa; 2) inhibition hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA esters accumulation winter are responsible surviving cold materials fast growth during following spring.

Mathematical modeling of monolignol biosynthesis in Populus xylem.

Recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass to sugar release is a central issue in the production of biofuel as an economically viable energy source. Among all contributing factors, variations in lignin content and its syringyl-guaiacyl monomer composition have been directly linked with the yield of fermentable sugars. While recent advances in genomics and metabolite profiling have significantly b...

The transcriptome of a Populus pseudo-backcross identifies genes and pathways co-expressed with monolignol biosynthesis

Background Lignin is the main impediment for efficient cellulose extraction and ethanol production from woody tissues. Even though, the biosynthesis of the lignin constituents the monolignols is well characterized, little is known about the genetic control of the natural variation in lignin content and composition. The few association studies performed to date in forest species only uncover 520...

Thermo-mechanical Densification of Populus tomentosa var. tomentosa with Low Moisture Content

This study used thermo-mechanical densification technology to compress low-moisture content (3~5%) rapid-growth Populus tomentosa var. tomentosa trees to produce specimens with a low-compression ratio (small volume loss) and a uniform density profile and desirable properties. Furthermore, the densified specimens were subjected to post-heat treatment at 180, 190, and 200 °C for 2, 3, and 4 h, re...

Biosynthesis of Plant Hormones by Microorganisms

Higher plants are exposed to a multitude of fungi and bacteria, which are present in the surrounding phyllosphere and rhizosphere and which may also grow inside the shoot and the root. Compounds, known to act as hormones in higher plants, are produced by many of these microorganisms and are often functionalized in “friendly” or “hostile” interaction with the respective host plant. A large numbe...

Identification of additive, dominant, and epistatic variation conferred by key genes in cellulose biosynthesis pathway in Populus tomentosa†

Economically important traits in many species generally show polygenic, quantitative inheritance. The components of genetic variation (additive, dominant and epistatic effects) of these traits conferred by multiple genes in shared biological pathways remain to be defined. Here, we investigated 11 full-length genes in cellulose biosynthesis, on 10 growth and wood-property traits, within a popula...
